US Open Tickets Tennis News
Ticket Information

Tickets for the US Open will be made available through Ticketmaster, www.USOpen.org, or the USTA National Tennis Center Box Office on or about June 5th.

The US Open Tournament is played every year at the National Tennis Center in Flushing, New York. The National Tennis Center includes 3 "show courts", 15 field courts and 7 practice courts. A majority of the US Open matches are played on two of the show courts: Arthur Ashe Stadium and Louis Armstrong Stadium.

Sessions at the US Open are broken into Day and Night Sessions, and there are 3 types of tickets available for the Day Sessions. Arthur Ashe Stadium tickets provide reserved seating in the main stadium, as well as general admission access to Louis Armstrong Stadium, the Grandstand, and the field courts. Louis Armstrong Stadium tickets include reserved seating in the Loge Level of the stadium, as well as general admission access to The Grandstand and field courts, and are only available for the first 9 days of the tournament. Lastly, the Grounds Admission tickets provide general admission access to Louis Armstrong Stadium, The Grandstand, and the field courts, and are only available for the first 8 days of the tournament.

Premium seating can be difficult to come by, considering all seating is sold on a best available basis and a majority of the lower level seating is taken by the UTSA season ticket/full series subscription holders. However, US Open tickets are also available through numerous additional sources. Empire Tickets, a licensed ticket broker with the state of Georgia, has been the #1 source for US Open tickets on the secondary market for the past ten years. For more information, please call us at 1-800-725-0112.

Venue & Maps

Opening in 1978, the USTA National Tennis Center turned a former World's Fair site in to the now largest public tennis venue in the world. Seeing a need for a larger site for the US Open, W.E. "Slew" Hester met with city officials to start plans to move the tournament from the small West Side Tennis Club in Forest Hills, NY to Louis Armstrong Stadium in Flushing. After the completion of Arthur Ashe Stadium in 1995, the UTSA National Tennis Center has become one of the most outstanding facilities for tennis tournaments - Grand Slam or otherwise.

Day and Evening Sessions
Most matches are played in Arthur Ashe stadium, and traditionally there are 3 matches during the Day Session and 2 matches during the Evening Session. All matches are subject to weather and schedule matches, determined by the Referee's Office. The schedule for daily matches will be posted on www.USOpen.org the night before. Tickets are sold on a session by session basis.

Players' Schedules
Because the US Open is an elimination tennis tournament, it is impossible to purchase tickets in advance for a particular player. The draw for each day's matches is not announced until the night before. Seeds are announced approximately one week before the start of the tournament.

On-site Ticket Upgrades and Day-of Ticket Sales
Ticket upgrades are available to ticket holders on the day of the session at the Ticket Upgrade Booth, for an additional cost. The Upgrade booth is located inside the East Gate, adjacent to the Box Office.

There are a limited number of Grounds Admission passes sold day-of for sessions. The number sold is determined by the Facility Manager, and depends on the number of passes sold in advance.

Qualifying Rounds
Qualifying Rounds are held Tuesday through Friday of the first week, and admission is free.

Will Call
Will Call is not available to individual ticket purchasers due to overwhelming volume.

Gate Times
Gates open at 10am for the Day Session, and 6pm for the Evening Session.

Children
Children 2 years or older must have a ticket to enter.

Security and Prohibited Items
All spectators are required to go through a screening process for entering the gates. There is a limit of one bag per person, which must be a single compartment and no larger than 12"W x 12"H x 16"L. All bags are subject to search. There is no bag storage available on the grounds, but there is a bag check outside the grounds for a nominal fee. For those without bags, a speed line is offered at all gates.

Prohibited Items:
  • sealed packages of any kind
  • briefcases
  • knapsacks/backpacks (of any kind or size)
  • hard coolers or like containers
  • glass bottles or cans
  • aerosol cans or noisemaking devices
